The commission desk
Send the photograph.
One picture is all we need, and this is the only thing left for you to do. There is no rush — the desk is open for as long as you need it, and no portrait begins until your photograph is here.
Your order
Both are on your order confirmation email — the number is at the top, and the email is the address it arrived at.
The photograph
Nothing is sent yet. Your photo stays on your device until you press the button below.
- Daylight
- A window is plenty. Flash flattens the fur.
- The eyes
- Sharp and open. The background matters far less.
- Close in
- Near enough to count the whiskers.
Your portrait is created with AI in the style of an oil painting, refined by hand, and shown to you first. You approve it before anything is printed.
Received
Your photograph is at the desk.
We will write to you when the portrait is ready to look at. Nothing is printed until you have seen it and said yes.
Not sure which photograph?
Send the one you already love. Daylight and open eyes matter far more than a good camera, and a picture taken on a phone in a kitchen has made most of the portraits in the ledger. If you are choosing between two, send either and say so — we will tell you which one will paint better before we begin.
Wrong number, or nothing happens?
Nothing about your order depends on this form working. Reply to your order confirmation email with the photograph attached, or write to hello@inkpaw.co.uk with the order number, and we will file it by hand at the same desk.
An older photograph, or one you cannot find yet
Take your time. Memorial commissions are often made from the only picture that survives, however small or blurred, and we would rather wait for the right one than begin on the wrong one. If you would like help looking, write to us and we will look with you.
